you got q’s, we got a’s:

  • Our play cafe and lounge areas are all free to use, no booking required! We say that most mornings between 10am-12pm are our businest times, so if you are looking to guarantee a sofa, try the afternoons!
You DO need to book for one of our sessions, we host two(ish) sessions a day in our upstairs session hub. These can be found here!

  • Our closest car park is the angel hill car park, but for a cheaper and more accesible option head to RAM’S MEADOW car park, it’s currently only three pounds for the whole day, and there’s no exit closing time! It’s a short walk right past the ABBEY GARDENS so don’t forget to stop and have a look at the beautiful flowers!

  • We find that we get mainly 0-5 year olds enjoying our cafe play area and lounge rooms, but we are firm believers in “toys don’t have an age limit” so if you have an older child, let them play at Joy Connection!

  • We are lucky enough to have TWO PRAM PARKS! The main pram park is inside the entryway of Joy Connection and can hold up to eight prams, or four double prams! When that is full, which is often is, we ask that you take your pram to our space round the back of the building inside the flowery fence. This space is outside and can host up to six prams, it is accessible to the general public but is in the safeguarded car park of the SEND college, so is fairly well protected.
We will probably have to shuffle prams around at one point during your visit to Joy Connection, so we ask that you don’t leave anything too valuable just in case!

  • All of our creatives have their own refund policies to protect themselves (as they are the heart and soul of Joy Connection!), however we stick by an agreement that if there is less than twelve hours notice for a cancellation there in no refund for pre-paid sessions. We will ask you to read and accept the terms before booking so there’s no accidents!

  • We know, we know! It’s a big step to take for a lot of companies and the last thing we want to do is exclude anyone, however as a small start up business, we can’t really afford the extra equipment, insurance and bills that come with accepting cash in hand. We hope you understand, and we of course make exceptions for your little one’s pocket money, we aren’t monsters!

  • WE LOVE DOGS! But not all our little one’s do, it hurts our hearts to say no to our fluffy family members, but we have to think of the children. GUIDE DOGS are of course welcome any time, we just ask you be patient with any little ones already in the cafe :)

  • We figure we have to practice what we preach, if we want to build a sustainable future for our children, we need to cut out dairy where we can. Our milk hot chocolate is the only product in our cafe with dairy in it. We provide OAT, ALMOND, COCONUT and SOY milk (all gluten free!) at no extra cost. For those with allergies to all the above, or if you just can’t get along with alternative milks, feel free to bring your own cows milk from home!

  • Yes! We have a spacious bathroom upstairs (a flight of 14 steps and a small 3 step up in the corridoor) there is baby changing facilities, some spare nappies and wipes, and of course lots of soap for those mucky hands! It is a gender neutral toilet and has room for one adult and two little ones at any one time!

  • Of course! We have a lovely baby changing station upstairs in our bathroom. We are hoping to make space for a baby changing station downstairs when we have some more funds, so keep your eyes peeled!

  • As our creative Cate (from Boobeeco) says: “chin up, boobs out!” We are first and foremost a safe space, and we know how important it is for you all to feed your little ones whenever and wherever they need feeding! Whoever is working in the cafe is on hand for anything you might need and also to make sure that there is no problems from any other parents/customers.

  • We try to always have the following sweet treats on hand:
    -Vegan Cake Slice
-Gluten Free & Vegan Cake Slice
    -Vegan Traybake Slice
-Gluten Free & Vegan Traybake Slice

We also would love you all to bring your own food in for your children (or yourself!) but please no peanuts as we are trying to be careful of allergies!
We don’t serve any savory treats, so if you are coming in for lunch don’t forget to pack something to bring :)

  • Absolutely! There is also four plug sockets in our main café lounge, and three plug sockets in our upstairs lounge so feel free to charge your devices!

  • We can’t guarantee any calm and quit time, but we do recommend afternoons, specifically Mondays, Tuesdays and Sundays, we don’t know why they are quieter, they just are!
If you get overwhelmed in crowds, take a peek in, a generl rule is if the pram park is full, we are going to be busy!
