Welcome to the

world of Bloom!

Hey, my name is Lottie Holder and I set up Bloom with the purpose of providing a safe environment for every woman and birthing person to experience an informative, enjoyable and empowering class. There are many questions during the antenatal and postnatal period and I am here to listen, advise and most importantly, support you and your family every step of the way.

"I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting an enjoyable pregnancy class in a calm, welcoming and safe environment" Ruth T.

ANTENATAL BREASTFEEDING EDUCATION

  • In the UK, eight out of ten women stop breastfeeding before they want to. However, with the right support, mothers can enjoy a longer and more fulfilling breastfeeding experience.

My goal is to empower and equip mothers with the necessary skills and knowledge they need to fully embrace the incredible benefits in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Benefits for the mother

:Helps the uterus contract and return to previous size

:Protects from breast and ovarian cancers

    :Protects against heart disease

    :Lowers the risk of depression

    :Encourages bonding

:It's free as well as available whenever and wherever you need it!

    Benefits for the newborn

:Protects from illness, such as infection, diabetes, asthma and heart disease

:Protects babies from cot death (sudden infant death syndrome)

:Reduces risk of diarrhoea and vomiting

:Reduces risk of cardiovascular disease and obesity in adulthood

    :Promotes healthy weight gain

:Promotes a normal and healthy development

    :Encourages bonding

:Breastmilk meets all of a baby's nutritional needs

  • All women and birthing people are welcome! Join us for an hour and a half workshop tailored to ready you for breastfeeding immediately post birth and during the initial days. Our comprehensive session will encompass a wide array of topics, from fostering oxytocin release during labour and birth (aiding the 'let down' reflex) to navigating the first feed, identifying good positioning and attachment, exploring breastfeeding positions, practicing hand expression using props, breastmilk storage and much more.

  • £85pp

Includes a free hot drink from the Joy Connection cafe menu

birthing partner class

  • Research has found antenatal education classes are not always effective in preparing birthing partners for their role during labour and birth. In attending a partner specific class, evidence recognises the link between positive long term benefits for the health and wellbeing of the birthing person, baby and family unit and partners who actively engaged in maternity care.

  • All birthing partners are welcome! Join our hour and a half session designed to educate and equip birth partners with the knowledge and readiness for a positive labour and birth journey. This class covers various aspects, including understanding your role, the birthing process, effective advocacy, fostering oxytocin release, offering hands-on assistance, boosting self- confidence, and delving into a range of essential topics.

antenatal education

  • Research has shown that attending antenatal classes enhances a mother's experience of birth, labour and the postnatal period. Attending such classes have even been found to reduce the likelihood of interventions.

Bloom will equip mothers and their birthing partners with essential tools and invaluable information, enabling you to make informed decisions with confidence every step of the way.

At Bloom, I always prioritise evidence based practices to provide you with the most effective and up to date information. The aim is for you to leave feeling empowered to navigate your unique path, whether you opt for a home birth, caesarean section, breastfeeding, bottle feeding etc.

Irrespective of your birthing preferences and choices, Bloom antenatal classes are tailored to meet your needs and ensure you and your birth partner feel prepared.

Should you wish to mix feed but need that little bit of advice on how to make it work best for you and baby, please know booking with Bloom can support you.

  • Absolutely!

Breastfeeding, mixed feeding and expressing can be a daunting pipe dream when you have more than one mouth to feed.

It is, however, very possible! Booking with Bloom will equip you with all the knowledge and confidence you need to provide your babies with breastmilk in whatever form you choose to deliver it.
