CREATIVE, MINDFUL PLAY SESSIONS

Hosted by Pint Sized Playtime

HI, HEY, HELLO!

Welcome to Pint Sized Playtime! The session that creates time for you and your Little Ones to explore Mindfulness through creativity.

we encourage movement, breath play/massage, imagination, connection, EFT tapping, confidence, palming technique, Crafting, affirmations, singing and loads more!

We also want to remember the “Grown up’s” behind the little ones. We arrange informal parent meet-ups to encourage connection and a chance to relate through experience, whilst building a positive and supportive community.

We run these sessions in Term Time batches and each week is a different theme, this allows us to explore mindfulness in all sorts of different and fantastical ways.

“My daughter absolutely loves the pint sized playtime sessions. It has a lovely blend of songs, creativity, crafts, yoga etc. Nicki is fantastic with the kids, creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere” - ISABEL COOKE

MOVEMENT

“This isn’t about being the greatest dancer!”

  • It is about expressing yourself through movement, exploring the energy around you and how to enjoy interacting with it. Creative movement offers you the chance to celebrate your body and be grateful for all the incredible things you can choose to do with it. The kind of movement I love to encourage feels empowering and celebratory of your body, we have this amazing vessel and shell in which to walk the world with, the least we can do is to learn how to enjoy it!!

Me and my ukulele offer up live music to wiggle and jiggle along with. I play the classic Nursery Rhymes, original catchy tunes, educational songs but all the moves and shapes made are to be inspired by you.

I like to offer up play that energise the body and mind, basic yoga which is often connected to a story and physical parachute play, because who doesn’t love parachute play?!

MINDFULLNESS

“This isn’t about finding our inner peace!”

  • It is about understanding and learning techniques that can help manage emotions and feelings. I really enjoy sharing visual ways of connecting with breath, not just for the stressful moments but as a routine happy habit.

During the sessions your little ones can learn about their mental health through the medium of puppetry or story telling, I am always developing a catalogue of relatable stories about understanding emotions and expectations. Meditation and self appreciation fall under the umbrella of mindfulness and I am all for celebrating the self and those around you, breath play can be explored and of course my Ukulele comes out to play for some musical mediation too!

MUSIC

“This isn’t about being pitch perfect!”

  • It is about making noice and enjoy the sound of your own voice at the right place and right time. Building confidence and connection with the space around you, interacting vocally with the energy that is you and the space you inhabit.

I bring my ukulele with me to every session, live music and active playing in the moment is such an intriguing and exciting experience for little ones. I have developed a batch of original songs to helping us better interact with chakra alignment, self appreciation, affirmations and lots more.

We sing songs to better understand ourselves and to simply enjoy making noise!

STORIES

This isn’t about being book smart!”

  • It is about expanding our imaginations and igniting a joy for reading. I love exploring books with little ones, for me its about creating an experience around reading. I pull a few tricks out of my sleeve when bringing stories to life, a lot of books lend themselves to sensory play.

I always have a selection of preloved books and Usborne books with me in my Pint Sized Playtime box, these books are packed with creative ideas which spark an idea for crafting, movement or music.

The book is often the source of inspiration.

CRAFTING

This isn’t about being an artist!”

  • It is an expansion of imagination, bringing thoughts to life.

I like to link craft play predominately with calendar events or book readings as this creates connection to a moment in time.

As much as possible I recycle, reduce and reuse when it comes to craft play. An old egg box could be a spider, a dragon, a traffic cone, a boat or a bunch of flowers, the options are only as limited as you want them to be.

All supplies required for the crafting sessions are provided by Pint Sized Playtime.

SESSIONS AT A GLANCE

we always start our sessions with a few songs, celebrating our fabulous faces, aligning our chakras and connecting with a short ABC of affirmations.

Next Marvin our self pride meet and greet monkey encourages confidence before we sing and stretch to our hello song and wiggle to our find your groove tune.

We then become mindful and and use EFT tapping to head to the rainbow realm where we explore a couple of yoga poses inspired by the theme of the week.

Next we say namaste to some creative theme inspired breath play or massage, learning how to channel and focus our breath.

each session we have a sensory activity or two to do while we look and listen to a book. we collectively make the choice to use our voice to sing along to a couple of seasonal songs fit for our theme, sometimes we celebrate movement through music and take the chance for a little dance.

Crafty mr Fox in the box always has a make and take home craft or hand/foot print ready for us to do together towards the end of the session.

After all that we ring the calm alarm for our affirmation of the week, before settling down for some snuggles and our lay lullaby goodbye song.
